Old school independent donut shop with a great vibe. Easy parking.
The service is great. The donuts are fantastic. The blueberry donut had an intense faux-blueberry taste. The icing on a chocolate dip was crisp and tasty. Hot chocolate was good, I am told the coffee was as well.
The best Detroit area donut shop I’ve hit yet. Recommended.

The Bailey Theatre, located in downtown in Camrose, Alberta. Apparently the oldest surviving theatre in the province.
Eastgate Mall is located at 4804 50 Street in Innisfail, Alberta. Or 4804 42 Avenue in Innisfail… it appears to use both!
Though clean with well maintained common areas, this is small local mall is on life support.
It currently seems to be home to a Church, a sewing shop, an insurance office, a law office, a cattle breeding industry organization, and a coffee shop.
There are still signs up promoting Alberta government offices, a home renovation centre, and a Sears… but all of these are long gone.

Marlborough Mall is located at 3800 Memorial Drive in Calgary, Alberta.
A large and spacious 90s style mall. Lots of vacancies. Lots of no-name independent stores. The mall seems to have been thrown a lifeline with a large MaKami College “campus” taking up one of the two anchor spots.

This Church of Scientology building is located at 1 Griswold Street in Detroit, Michigan.
Originally the home of Standard Savings & Loan Bank, the building was bought and restored by the Scientologists starting in 2007.

The John K. King bookstore at 901 W Lafayette Boulevard in downtown Detroit Michigan.
Four floors of used books. A huge collection, but after three visits, one that leaves me unsatisfied. The books are well picked through, and the prices high – I have never come away with any treasures that excited me.
But worth a visit just for the experience.

Having spent a lot of time living around Detroit, when I saw this sign I was surprised it hadn’t inspired a single local joke or meme.
The Dining Car at High River Station is located at 408 1st Street Southwest in High River, Alberta.
Owned by Alberta Premier Danielle Smith and her husband David Moretta, this is a small brunch restaurant located in a former CP passenger rail car. (Although I believe it also used to be open for dinner until fairly recently.)
Decent menu of breakfast staples. Okay service. You are coming here for the experience of eating in an old converted train car.
